I found Pura Vida Wellness and its principal Duane Denton by pure chance. At first I wasn't sure what to expect. But what I discovered was a true oasis. Located in a residential private neighborhood, Duane's facility is like no other. A fully equipped gym, massage room, private bathrooms and changing facilities, a Nomad Sauna that blows any infra red sauna away, outdoor shower and three professional grade cold plunges - if you want a real cold plunge experience, this is place. The area is beautifully landscaped so you feel in touch with nature as you enjoy your sauna and plunges. Despite how beautiful everything is already, Duane always looks to enhance his clients' experiences. He recently constructed a large Tiki Hut and artificial grass for Yoga classes, which accommodates up to 15 people comfortably. While there are a number of options, my personal story was the need for exercise so I opted to train with Duane. When I first met him, I instantly realized Duane was different. He has a calm presence that I really cant be put to words - you have to meet him to understand. Also, Duane just doesn't train you like other trainers (and I have had others). He takes a whole body approach, meaning you're not just working one or two body parts, you are working everything, I'm 54 years old and I've sat at a desk for 30 years. While I have sporadically worked out, my body aches and pains and blood pressure meds were telling me, it was time to make a change. Duane turned out to be the change I need. He has changed the way I look at food, what I eat and when. Importantly, there is no judgment, only support and somehow, he knows just when I'm ready for more whether its more information about food or stepping up my workouts. On my days I don't train, on my way home from work I stop for a sauna and cold plunge. Its now my routine to end my stressful day. I've been with Duane now since about mid-May and I told him I'm in for the long term. Ill close by saying this - there may be other places like Pura Vida Wellness in South Florida, but there are all missing one key component - and that's Duane. I You wont find his knowledge, kindness, or passion for what he does anywhere else.
